Scripture That Restores Hope
Written by the Scripture Nook team · March 19, 2026
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Optimism says things will probably work out. Hope says God is good, and God is here, and the story is not finished. The first is a personality trait. The second is a posture you can return to even on the days you do not feel it.
Romans 15:13 calls God the 'God of hope.' Hope is His native language. When yours runs out, you are not borrowing from an exhausted supply, you are drawing from His. The verse promises overflow, not bare minimum.
If hope feels far away today, name one thing you are still hoping for. Out loud, to God. Then ask Him to fill the rest. Hope, like a fire, will sometimes catch from a single spark.
A Prayer
God of hope, refill what has run dry in me. Fill me with joy and peace that does not depend on my circumstances changing. Let me overflow with the kind of hope that other tired people can warm their hands by. Amen.
